New York real estate Salespersons and Brokers must renew their license every two years through the eAccessNY system. To renew, you must complete the required continuing education (CE) and submit your renewal application before your license expiration date.
New York requires 22.5 hours of continuing education every two years for license renewal.

All courses must be approved by the New York Department of State, Division of Licensing Services, and may be taken online, by webinar, or in a classroom setting.
Important: All continuing education must be completed before submitting your renewal application.
After completing a course, you will receive a certificate of completion. Save a copy of your certificates for your records.
Beginning February 4, 2026, New York real estate schools are no longer required to submit student completion lists to the Department of State. Because of this change, it is important to keep your course completion certificates in case you need to verify your continuing education.
New York real estate licenses are renewed online through the eAccessNY licensing system.

After submitting your renewal, save or print the confirmation page for your records.
Renewal fees are paid through the eAccessNY system when you submit your renewal application.
