Completion Requirements. Continuing education credit is awarded upon successful completion of all required course components and satisfaction of regulatory active time requirements.

Stay Active in the Course. The course platform electronically monitors active participation. Time tracking will pause during periods of inactivity. You may exit and return to the course at any time. Your progress will be saved.

Active Time Requirements. Per New York regulations, CE courses require a minimum participation time for course completion. If you complete the instructional material early, you must remain actively logged in until the required time has elapsed before credit can be awarded.  The state regulator recognizes a 50-minute clock hour – accounting for 10 minutes of break time every hour.

Assessments

This course includes quizzes at the end of each unit which must be completed.

There is no final exam.

Once we've covered how to analyze your area of choice, we will delve into analyzing leases from an investment viewpoint. We will conclude by covering the most commonly used investment benchmarks as well as the economic principles which dictate demand for any single property.

Unit 1: Deciding Where to Invest
Identify regional and local economic indicators that signal investment potential, including population growth, job growth, and barriers to entry.

Unit 2: Investigating Your Local Market
Analyze supply and demand factors, absorption rates, occupancy levels, rent trends, and the impact of development and condominium conversions.

Unit 3: Evaluating Neighborhoods and Market Cycles
Assess neighborhood quality, government influences, market cycles, and the timing of buyers’ and sellers’ markets.

Unit 4: Analyzing Leases
Examine residential and commercial lease structures, identify common lease issues, and understand how lease terms directly affect property value.
