Washington real estate brokers are required to take a minimum of 90 hours of continuing education when renewing their real estate license for the first time. This course, Washington Advanced Real Estate Practices, is one of the 30-hour courses that licensees are required by the Washington Department of Licensing to complete at first renewal.
This course is an overview of advanced practices that may not have been covered in the broker's initial pre-license training course. Students will learn more about the workings of a real estate brokerage, how an agency relationship is (or is not) created, and when to rely on the supervisory designated or managing broker when advice is needed. Students will also learn about listing agreements, purchase and sale agreements, buyer broker agreements, and lease agreements. This course will also discuss real estate property management.
The chapters included in this course are:
The course contains approximately 30 hours of reading material, divided into 11 chapters, with an introductory video at the beginning of each one. Each chapter has a short quiz at the end to help enforce learning objectives, with a required score of 70% or higher to pass. The quiz may be attempted as many times as necessary in order to pass.
At the end of the course is a final exam. The exam presents 90 multiple-choice questions, does not have a time limit, and requires a passing score of 70% or higher. The final exam may be attempted as many times as necessary in order to pass, but a new set of 90 questions will be presented on each attempt. The final exam is not printable.
This school is approved under chapter 18.85 RCW; inquiries regarding this or any other real estate school may be made to the: Washington State Department of Licensing, Real Estate Program, P.O. Box 9015, Olympia, Washington 98507-9015
