How to Renew Your Utah Real Estate License

Utah real estate Sales Agents, Associate Brokers, Principal Brokers, and Branch Brokers must renew their licenses every two years. Licenses expire on the last day of the license month, as shown on the license. The renewal period opens 45 days before your license expiration date.

To maintain an active license, you must complete your continuing education (CE) by the 15th day of the expiration month, ensure your courses are reported, and submit your renewal before your license expires on the last day of the month.

Step 1: Complete the Required Continuing Education

Utah requires 18 hours of CE every 2 years.

For First Renewal for Sales Agents:

For All Other Renewals:

Important: Complete your CE by the 15th day of your renewal month to qualify for on-time renewal.

Important: The UT DRE requires that CE is completed by the 15th day of your renewal month to qualify for on-time renewal. To avoid delays, make sure your license number, suffix (SA00, AB00, PB00), and legal name exactly match Division records in your account with the CE provider, and use zeros (0), not the letter "O."

Step 2: Verify Your Course Completions

Before renewing, log in to your MyLicense One (UtahID) account and confirm that all of your credits have been posted. You can view CE hours by clicking on your license number in your account.

Providers have ten (10) days from course completion to report your CE credits to PearsonVue. The Division of Real Estate may take up to five (5) additional business days to process the completions.

Step 3: Complete Your License Renewal

Utah real estate licenses are renewed online through MyLicense One (UtahID).

To renew your license:

  1. Log in to your MyLicense One account using your UtahID credentials
  2. Click on the 3 dots under Actions of the license you want to renew. A list of options will pop up, then click on Renew License
  3. Complete the renewal application
  4. Pay the renewal fee
  5. Submit your renewal application

After submitting, you will receive a confirmation, and your license will be updated in the system.
