How to Renew Your Tennessee Real Estate License
Tennessee real estate Brokers and Affiliate Brokers renew their license every 2 years through the Tennessee Department of
Commerce and Insurance's TN CORE system. To
renew, you must complete your continuing education (CE) and submit your renewal before your license expires.
Step 1: Complete the Required Continuing Education
Tennessee requires 16 hours of CE every 2 years.
Your CE must include:
- A 6-hour TN Mandatory CORE course (required for all licensees)
- 10 hours of TREC-approved elective courses
If this is your first renewal as a licensed real estate broker, you must complete 120 hours of
post-licensing education within the first 3 years of broker license approval. After renewing a
broker license for the first time, the next broker renewal cycle requires the standard 16 hours of course
credits.
Step 2: Verify Your Course Completions
Course providers report your completed courses to the CE Broker platform, which typically appear within 24 to 28 hours. Providers have up to 10 days
to upload completion rosters to CE Broker. Log in to your CE Broker account and review your course history to confirm your credits have been reported correctly
before renewing.
Step 3: Complete Your License Renewal
- Log in to your
TN CORE
account
- Select "Renew" from the Quick Actions menu
- Select or resume the renewal transaction you wish to submit
- Review the introduction statement and personal information
- Attach any requested documents
- Complete the renewal application
- Review your application summary
- Pay the renewal fee and submit your application
After submitting, you will receive a confirmation email, and your license
will be updated in the system.
Renewal Fees
Renewal fees are paid through the TN CORE system at the time of application submission.
The standard renewal fee is $75 for Affiliate Brokers and Brokers.
