The fundamental question for you right now is, "Why should I study real estate economics?"

For real estate professionals, the answer is clear: real estate is a constantly changing market that is formed, defined, and manipulated by economic forces on a local, regional, state, national, and even worldwide level. In a highly competitive environment, the players who understand what the rules are that govern the game, how the rules work, and how they can be manipulated will be the ones who not only survive but prosper.

Real estate economics is not a dry, theoretical field of academic study for Nobel laureates only: it's the world in which you work and live.
