Course Description

This course is designed to give the licensee a comprehensive introduction to broker management. In the first chapter, basic management theory is reviewed along with the basic business principles a manager should know and be familiar with. A discussion of basic management skills is introduced that will focus on the skills necessary for managing a real estate brokerage. Using economic indicators as a management tool along with compliance with business law and ethics is also discussed. A brief introduction to financial management is also presented, including basic trust account administration.

An entire chapter is devoted to associate performance. Included in this chapter are the topics of motivation theory, the roll of management in motivating staff, and a discussion of the vital leadership skill of communication.

The third chapter focuses on staffing, recruiting, training, and associate retention.

Completion & Attendance Requirements

Completion Requirements. Continuing education credit is awarded upon successful completion of all required course components and satisfaction of regulatory active time requirements.

Stay Active in the Course. The course platform electronically monitors active participation. Time tracking will pause during periods of inactivity. You may exit and return to the course at any time. Your progress will be saved.

Assessments

Each unit will end in a multiple-choice quiz to test your knowledge. Quizzes require a score of at least 70% to proceed to the next unit. You can take quizzes as many times as needed.

This course will end with a 20-question final exam that requires a score of at least 75% to receive credit. Exams are graded instantly and can be attempted as many times as needed with no additional fees.

The Nevada Real Estate Division requires that the final examination is not downloadable or printable. The student will be notified of the number of questions answered correctly after final examination has been completed. The student will NOT be given the questions that were answered incorrectly.

Course Completion Survey

Students must submit a survey upon completion of the course. This short survey helps us improve the course material and student experience. It is required by NRED. Your thoughtful feedback is appreciated.

Certificates & Credit Reporting

Upon successful completion of all course requirements, a certificate of completion will be issued. You are responsible for maintaining a copy of your certificates of completion and renewing your license with the state regulator. 

OnlineEd will automatically report course completion credits to the Nevada Real Estate Division within 1 business day on the student's behalf.

Course Prerequisites

There are no prerequisites for this course.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

All tuition and fees paid for the course are refundable when: (a) the course of instruction is discontinued by OnlineEd and such discontinuation has prevented a student from completing the course; or (b) the enrollment of the student was procured as a result of any misrepresentation in promotion materials of the school, or representation made by an owner or employee of the school. All refunds will be completed within 30 days after the effective date of enrollment termination. Refunds will not be given to any student after the student has successfully registered in a course or courses, as once registered, student has access to the registered courses. In hardship cases, OnlineEd may issue a refund at its sole discretion. OnlineEd does not issue retroactive partial refunds for courses that are subsequently discounted or put on sale after a student makes a purchase.

Academic Integrity and Identity Verification

Students must complete all coursework independently. OnlineEd prohibits misrepresentation of identity or allowing another individual to complete coursework on your behalf. Failure to comply with academic integrity policies may result in denial of credit.

Student Conduct Policy

Students are expected to show respect, courtesy, and consideration when interacting with school staff and students. Students are expected to conducting themselves in a professional, legal, and cooperative manner that is not disruptive, harassing, intimidating, or dangerous. Deviation from these standards may result in disciplinary action.

Non-Discrimination Policy

Grievance Policy

If a student has a grievance against OnlineEd, its staff or students, the aggrieved student shall contact the School Director by email or mail, stating the nature of the grievance. The School Director shall evaluate the grievance and respond to the student based upon their findings.

Policies on Cheating and Misrepresentation

Cheating on courses that supply completion certificates, designations, or official credit is not tolerated. OnlineEd is not obligated to continue to furnish credit or continued support for students caught cheating on any part of the coursework or testing.
 
Misrepresentation of personal identity is strictly forbidden for all OnlineEd courses. Falsifying personal information, forgery, and misrepresentation may result in immediate suspension. Additional actions by state and federal agencies may include loss or suspension of a license, failure to grant a license, fees, or criminal prosecution.

Course Goals

This continuing education course is designed to give a historical overview of the Nevada and federal Fair Housing Laws and an in-depth discussion of the individual laws and their application to the practice of real estate.

This course emphasizes anti-discriminatory conduct which all licensees should practice. We'll summarize each federal fair housing act, list the classes of individuals who are protected from discrimination, and name those who are exempt from following fair housing laws. It will also illustrate several common forms of housing discrimination licensees should avoid, as well as HUD's policies on housing advertisements.

The course concludes by discussing the voluntary affirmative action marketing program (VAMA) and why promoting fair housing laws is a positive force at work in Nevada and throughout the nation.

Course Materials

This online course contains six chapters of reading material. A review quiz of 5 questions follows each chapter. A quiz score of 75% or greater is required prior to being allowed to proceed to the next section.

At the end of the course, a final examination is required. The final examination consists of 20 questions. A test score of 75% or greater is required for course completion.

Course Goals:

This course is designed to give the licensee a comprehensive understanding of the many issues regarding disclosure in the practice of real estate in Nevada. The common law fiduciary duty of disclosure is explored along with the trend towards more expansive disclosure standards. Discussed in detail are the Seller's Real Property Disclosure Form, the Lead-based Paint Disclosure Statement, RESPA disclosures, and the numerous other disclosures that are required when real property is sold or transfers.

Upon completion of this course, the licensee will have a comprehensive knowledge and checklist of potential disclosures that should be made in a Nevada real estate transaction.

Course Materials:

This course is composed of approximately 62 pages of text divided into six chapters. A review quiz of five questions is at the end of segments 3 through 6. A quiz score of 60% or greater is required for those quizzes before the student is allowed to proceed to the next chapter.

At the end of the course there is a final examination of 30 questions. A test score of 75% or greater is required in order to pass the final exam and complete the course.
