Real estate professionals routinely work with people they don't know, in places they don't control, often while conducting business alone. Putting REALTOR® Safety First: Safety Strategies for the Modern REALTOR® helps real
estate professionals recognize potential risks earlier, make thoughtful safety decisions, and develop practices that
protect themselves, their clients, their information, and their families.
Built around the practical framework NOTICE → ASSESS → CREATE OPTIONS → ACT, the course explores personal
awareness, office safety systems, working safely with buyers and sellers, property and open-house safety, digital
threats and wire fraud, AI-enabled deception, client-data protection, and the risks created by social media and
oversharing. Participants leave with practical strategies they can incorporate into their everyday business—and a
personal plan for making good safety practices more automatic.
Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, participants will be able to:
1. Recognize potential safety risks in common real estate situations and use NOTICE → ASSESS → CREATE OPTIONS
→ ACT to make safer, more deliberate decisions.
2. Apply practical safety strategies when meeting prospects, showing properties, conducting listing appointments
and open houses, and responding when circumstances unexpectedly change.
3. Explain how consistent office systems and safety practices can reduce dependence on individual memory,
judgment, or circumstance and create a stronger culture of safety.
4. Protect personal, client, property, and transaction information by using sound digital-security practices and
independently verifying unusual or sensitive requests.
5. Recognize emerging AI-enabled risks, including voice cloning, deepfakes, synthetic identities, and more
sophisticated phishing, and apply STOP → VERIFY → CONTINUE when authenticity matters.
6. Evaluate their own business and online practices and identify specific changes that can reduce unnecessary
exposure while allowing them to remain visible, accessible, and effective professionals.
This course will remain available to students for 365 days after enrollment.
