Welcome! You’re here because you’re ready to jump into the specialized world of timeshare sales in Oregon. This 14-hour course is designed to get you exactly what you need to pass your state exam and start your new career with confidence.
Starting January 1, 2026, Oregon has streamlined the path for people who want to focus strictly on timeshares without having to get a full broker’s license. Here’s a quick roadmap of the 14 units we’re going to tackle together:
We’ll start by speaking the same language. Unit 1 and Unit 2 dive into the specific definitions you’ll need to know—like the difference between an "accommodation" and a "facility," and how Oregon law actually defines a timeshare. From there, Unit 3 gives you a solid foundation in real estate law, while Unit 4 explains how these resorts are managed behind the scenes through private controls and governance.
This is the "how-to" section of your career. We’ll cover what your license actually lets you do in Unit 5 and the step-by-step process to get it in Unit 6 (including that $300 application fee and background check). Unit 7 focuses on keeping your license active, and Unit 8 explains your relationship with your Managing Principal Broker, who will be your supervisor and mentor in the field.
The final stretch is all about professional standards and protecting your clients.
Unit 9 & 11: We’ll talk about Fair Housing laws and the "Agency" relationship. Essentially, we'll cover who you represent and the "affirmative duties" you owe to everyone involved.
Unit 10 & 12: You’ll learn the "paperwork" side, including handling records correctly and staying far away from "false practices" or misleading sales tactics.
Unit 13: We’ll dig into one of the most important consumer protections: the 5-day right of cancellation.
Unit 14: Finally, we’ll wrap up with how the state enforces these rules to keep the industry honest.
