Navigating the Mortgage Process in a Changing Environment

This course will teach you the key elements of prudent underwriting standards and to inform the student of federal and state laws regarding loan origination and licensee requirements. By understanding the process, guidelines, and forms that involved in guiding the homeowner in distress through the short sale process. You will gain an understanding of the lending “basics”, the key principles of the business and recognize the importance of applying “best practices” principles in the conduct of the student’s business.

After attending this course, students will be able to:

• Explain the evolution of real estate lending from early America to the present day and its impact on the quality of lending standards.
  
• Learn lending concepts and standards.
  
• Develop a thorough understanding of affordable loan plans and be capable of explaining the requirements and procedures.
  
• Understand and explain common or potential deviations, both intentional and accidental, from best practices including licensee origination requirements and the possible impact on the licensee and principals.
  
• Assist the homeowner in distress in processing a short sale under typical guidelines
