C.A.R.’s Disaster Preparedness & Knowledge (DPK) Certification: Crisis Knowledge Management program consists of four required courses.

Preparing for a disaster requires more than just an emergency kit. These four courses take an in-depth look into the major disasters for California and helps to prepare real estate professionals, step-by-step, both mentally and physically. Upon completion of all four courses, participants will automatically be e-mailed their Disaster Preparedness & Knowledge (DPK) certificate and THE DPK logo the following business day. These can be used in presentation materials, as well as sales and marketing media. The DPK program and the information provided within is for general information and educational purposes only. Courses included:

During the course we will examine various crisis scenarios and demonstrate how to develop communication plans, step-by-step. Having communication and collaboration plans will help calm the fears, anxieties, and stress levels for you as well as those around you. Knowing that you are not alone makes a big difference, and you can change fear and stress into positive actions by confidently preparing now for anything that potentially can come your way.

Like natural disasters, man-made disasters are increasing dramatically each year. Unfortunately, more people spend their time planning their next vacation than planning how to survive a man-made disaster. We can no longer afford to ignore these types of disasters and pretend they could never happen to us or to our communities.

This course is designed to help real estate professionals prepare for most man-made disasters, from pandemics and active shooters to cyberattacks and power outages. The secret to surviving man-made disasters is taking the necessary steps now to prepare. The course examines eight man-made disasters in detail and goes over strategies for preparing, surviving, and recovering.

This course is part of the C.A.R.’s Disaster Preparedness & Knowledge (DPK) program. The certification was created to guide real estate professionals to have a better understanding as to what they need to do to properly protect themselves, their family, their business and their community. By earning this Certification, you differentiate yourself in your community by being a trusted source and the person they turn to first. This course is designed to help real estate professionals understand and navigate insurance policies and mortgage plans following a disaster, as well as how best to assist others with their recovery. The path forward can present many challenges and opportunities. Therefore, it is important to have a full understanding of what is covered by insurance, the various options available, and ways to help prepare your community.

Learn how a disaster impacts the mortgage market and how you can tap into the many resources available for you and your clients. The course goes over the many government, nonprofit, and faith-based organizations that offer disaster assistance and relief. Having this knowledge can lead to many potential opportunities with future clients.

This course is part of the C.A.R.’s Disaster Preparedness & Knowledge (DPK) program. The certification was created to guide real estate professionals to have a better understanding as to what they need to do to properly protect themselves, their family, their business and their community. Disaster-type events appear to be more and more common every year. This course introduces real estate professionals to the importance of disaster preparedness, both personally and professionally. In addition to having a disaster preparedness plan, learn what you need to do to prepare your emergency kits and communication plans for both your family and your business. By taking the steps to prepare now, you set a positive example while boosting your professional visibility within your community.

It has been observed that in the aftermath of various disasters communities band together to help one another. Neighbors who have often never spoken to one another find themselves helping and sharing with each other. The lessons and knowledge learned here can not only be shared with friends and family but also with your clients and within your community.
