West Virginia Real Estate Continuing Education Info

West Virginia real estate licensees are required to complete 7 hours of continuing education during each licensing year, which ends annually on June 30th. How to Renew Your West Virginia Real Estate License

West Virginia real estate Salespersons and Brokers must renew their licenses annually through the WVREC Online License Renewal System. The license cycle runs from July 1 through June 30 each year. To renew, you must complete the required continuing education (CE) and submit your renewal before your license expires.

Step 1: Complete the Required Continuing Education

West Virginia requires 7 hours of CE each year.

Important: Continuing education must be completed by June 30 prior to license renewal. Courses may not be repeated in two consecutive years for CE credit.

Step 2: Verify Your Course Completions

Licensees can log in to CE Broker to view continuing education compliance and course completion records.

After logging in, review your Course History and CE Compliance Status to confirm that all required hours have been reported. Course providers report completed courses directly to CE Broker, but you should retain copies of your completion certificates for your records.

Important: You can renew only after your completed CE credits have been reported to CE Broker.

Step 3: Complete Your License Renewal

West Virginia real estate licenses are renewed online through the WVREC Online License Renewal System. The renewal period opens May 1 and closes June 30.

To renew your license:

  1. Go to the WVREC Licensing Homepage
  2. Select your license renewal option
  3. Log in to the WVREC Online License Renewal System by entering your license number and the last four digits of your Social Security Number.
  4. Follow the prompts to review and update your information, if needed.
  5. Complete your application
  6. Pay your renewal fee using a credit card or an electronic check.

After paying, you will receive confirmation of your renewal and an email containing your updated license. Save the renewal confirmation email and print a copy of your updated license for your personal records.
