How to Renew Your Indiana Real Estate License

Indiana real estate Brokers and Managing Brokers, including those in active, inactive, or referral status, must renew their licenses every three years. Licenses expire on June 30 of the renewal year assigned by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA).

To maintain an active license, you must complete your continuing education (CE), confirm that your course completions have been reported by your provider, and submit your renewal before your license expiration date.

Step 1: Complete the Required Continuing Education

Indiana requires 12 hours of CE each year (36 hours total per 3-year cycle), which must be completed by June 30 annually.

Brokers must complete:

Managing Brokers must complete:

Inactive and referral licensees are not required to complete CE.

All courses must be approved by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency (IPLA), and duplicate courses do not count.

Important: Indiana does not require CE submission at renewal. Do not renew until all CE is complete, as compliance is verified through random audits.

Step 2: Verify Your Course Completions

All approved providers report course completions to the Commission. Reporting may take up to one business day, depending on the provider.

Before renewing, verify that all of your credits have been reported. You do not need to submit CE certificates during renewal, but you must retain copies of your course completion certificates in case of a random audit.

Step 3: Complete Your License Renewal

Indiana real estate licenses are renewed online through MyLicense One (ML1).

To renew your license:

  1. Log in to your MyLicense One account using your Access Indiana login credentials
  2. Select your license and choose the renewal option
  3. Review your personal and license information
  4. Complete the renewal application
  5. Answer any required questions
  6. Pay the renewal fee
  7. Submit your application

After submitting, you will receive a confirmation, and your license will be updated in the system.
