A Practical Guide to Cybersecurity

This is a non-credit course. Not for license renewals.

This course explains the importance for real estate licensees to be proactive against online threats to their business and their clients. This course will describe cybersecurity, cyber threats, and responses to those threats.

The course is broken into three sections:

  • Chapter 1 - Reasons for Cybersecurity: This chapter explain the purpose and importance of being aware of internet-based risks.
  • Chapter 2 - Cyber Threats: This chapter covers the three main categories of online threats: malware, social engineering, and connectivity threats. Each category is further divided and identifies common types of attacks.
  • Chapter 3 - Cyber Responses: This last chapter breaks down the chain of a cyberattack and how licensees can protect themselves from each link of the attack chain.

Course Materials

This course contains about 3 hours of content. The course is divided into three sections. A review quiz of five questions follows each chapter. A quiz score of 70% or greater is required prior to being allowed to proceed to the next section.

At the end of the course is an optional final exam of 10 multiple-choice questions.

This course will remain available to students for 365 days after enrollment.
