This course, presented by Earth Advantage, has been approved by the City of Portland and is designed to help real estate professionals understand how this new program will work and how it will impact their approach to listing, selling and buying homes. The course provides a comprehensive overview of the current program requirements and answers to common questions that will help you become the ultimate resource for your clients!

The City of Portland's Home Energy Score Program goes into effect on January 1, 2018. Final rulemaking was completed by the City of Portland on September 13, 2017. The ordinance (Portland City Code Chapter 17.108) requires sellers of single-family homes to:

  • Obtain a home energy report, including a home energy score, from a licensed home energy assessor;
  • Disclose the score and report prior to listing a home publicly for sale in Portland on or after January 1, 2018.

Course Content

This online course is approximately one hour long. It consists of 3-5 minute video presentations divided into 9 sections. Short quiz questions and activities may appear between video sections to help you remember the content covered in the videos. A course completion certificate for Oregon CE credit will be issued after completing the course.
