Provides all renewal credits required in both Oregon and Washington
Individuals who want to practice real estate in Oregon and Washington are required to be licensed by both the Oregon Real Estate Agency (REA) and the Washington Department of Licensing (DOL). Each agency requires real estate licensees to complete 30 hours of continuing education every license cycle, with 3 hours of CE dedicated to state-specific topics.
This package of courses issues 27 hours of real estate continuing education credit that is applicable for both REA and DOL real estate license renewal. It also includes the two 3-hour state-specific courses.
Advanced Contract Law (4 hours) - In this advanced contracts course, the licensee will build upon their basic contract law knowledge to include concepts beyond the basics. The licensee will be introduced to the numerous problems which may arise in the formation, interpretation, and performance of a contract which may affect its validity.
Buyer Agency (4 hours) - This course is designed to give the licensee a comprehensive overview of buyer agency. The history of the shift from mandatory sub-agency to buyer representation that converted the buyer from a customer to a client is discussed in great detail.
Environmental Issues 1 (3 hours) - This course is a discussion of lead, asbestos, and radon informs the student of the nature of the environmental hazard, the methods available to detect the hazard, and possible abatement methods and procedures.
Environmental Issues 2 (3 hours) - The companion course to Environmental Issues 1, this course is a discussion of molds and fungi, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), potable water supply, clandestine drug labs, and underground storage tanks.
Ethics (3 hours) - This course emphasizes that the standards of ethical conduct in the practice of real estate are based upon federal and state laws as well as the National Association of Realtors® Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice.
Fair Housing (3 hours) - This course is designed to give a historical overview of the federal Fair Housing Laws and an in-depth discussion of the individual laws and their application to the practice of real estate.
Residential Property Inspection (3 hours) - This course is designed to give a detailed discussion of the items that may be included in a professional home inspection report along with the common characteristics of most inspection reports and inspection procedures.
Risk Management (4 hours) - This course introduces the student to the concept of risk and potential consequences that risk presents if not managed properly.
Current Issues in Washington Residential Real Estate (3 hour CORE) - This course covers many important topics that a real estate broker should be aware of such as the latest Washington legislation updates, common consumer complaints, organizational structures, the DOL's advertising guidelines, and additional topics.
Both Washington and Oregon licensees who are renewing their license for the first time are required to take a 30-hour state-specific course not included in this package.
