This three-hour online course covering Florida CORE law is designed to instruct students on a variety of Florida real estate laws as well as any law changes that have occurred since the real estate licensee's last two-year license renewal period. These laws include real estate licensing laws and the possible penalties for violating those laws, the agency disclosure laws that notify the public who the licensee is representing, local and federal anti-discrimination laws, and Florida's real estate tax regulations.
Course Topics This course will address the following topics.
Segment 1: Real Estate License Law Segment 2: Real Estate Commission Rules Segment 3: License Law Violations, Penalties, and Procedures Segment 4: Florida Agency Law Segment 5: Other Real Estate Laws Segment 6: Real Estate Taxes Learning Objectives At the end of the course, you will be able to:
address basic Florida real estate laws and qualifications for renewing your license. describe the purpose of the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) and the Florida Real Estate Commission (FREC). report a real estate licensing law violation, learn how allegations are investigated, and the explain the complaint process. explain the possible consequences of violating agency and disclosure rules. recognize the importance of fair housing laws, both federal and Florida specific. explain how Florida real property taxes are assessed. Course Progress and Completion This online course includes reading material with short questions placed between reading segments. Students must pass each activity in order to progress through the course. At the end of the course is a 10-question final exam that is not timed. Students have one attempt at the final exam. Failing to earn an 80% passing score requires the student to enroll in the course again (FAC 61J2-3.009(4)(a)). Re-enrollment is free.
A Notice of Satisfactory Course Completion Record is available immediately after passing the final exam. The successful completion record will be electronically uploaded to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation (DBPR) within 48 hours. Licensees can verify their continuing education records by using the DBPR's online services website, myfloridalicense.com
This course will remain available to students for 365 days after purchase.
