Missouri Real Estate Pre-License

In order to become a licensed real estate Salesperson in Missouri, the Missouri Real Estate Commission requires that you must be at least 18 years of age, be fingerprinted, an meet one of the following requirements:
  • Complete a 48-hour Salesperson pre-exam course
  • Be a licensed attorney
  • Hold an active real estate license in another jurisdiction and finish a 24-hour Missouri Real Estate Practice (MREP) course
All applicants must be fingerprinted for a Missouri and federal background check. You will need to contact the approved state vendor for fingerprinting. First, register with the Missouri Automated Criminal History Site (MACHS), then you will be directed to a list of fingerprinting locations available in Missouri.

To apply for the Salesperson licensing exam, schedule an appointment online with Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. (AMP). Be prepared to confirm a date and location for testing, and provide the following information: Social security number, name, address, phone number, date of birth, gender, and school name. You are required to pass both state and national portions of the exam, and these can be taken together or individually.

After you have met the requirements and passed the exam, you may apply for your Missouri real estate license within 6 months. The passing score report you received from the examination center will serve as your application for license.
