The financing contingency in the OREF Residential Real Estate Purchase Agreement lays out the information that the buyer is submitting to the seller regarding the buyer's ability to purchase the seller's property. This contingency covers what is to happen finance-wise when an all-cash offer is presented to the seller, or what is to occur with regards to the balance of the purchase price being offered. This section of the purchase offer form also covers what happens when there is a failure of the financing contingency.

This 1-hour video course explains the issues surrounding the financing contingency in the OREF sale agreement. The course is presented by Jeffry Wiren of Premier Property Group, LLC, and Evan Swanson of Mortgage Trust, with section introductions by Jeff Sorg of OnlineEd. This is course if offered free of charge to all Oregon brokers as a public service made possible by arrangement between Oregon Real Estate Forms LLC and OnlineEd®, Inc.

At the conclusion of this course, you will be able to:

  • Explain the purpose of the financing contingency,
  • Discuss with your client what happens if the buyer isn't able to meet the financing contingency, and
  • Recognize the obligations the buyer is committing to by using the financing contingency.

Course Completion

This 1-hour course is made of a series of video segments. Each video must be watched from beginning to end to unlock the next video. There is no final exam at the end of the course.
