Course Description

As a part of its real estate broker prelicense requirements, the Washington Department of Licensing (DOL) requires the completion of 90 hours of real estate study in two courses: a 60-hour Washington Real Estate Fundamentals course and a 30-hour Washington Real Estate Practices course.

This course contains the 30 hours of education needed to meet the Real Estate Practices requirement. The topics included in this course are:

  1. Business Skills and Procedures
  2. Agency Relationship
  3. Listing Property
  4. Working with Buyers
  5. Evaluating and Pricing Property
  6. Negotiations and Sales Techniques
  7. Purchase and Sales Agreements with Earnest Money
  8. Real Estate Financing
  9. Escrow and Closing
  10. Real Estate Mathematics

The course topics are divided into chapters. At the end of each chapter is a short quiz to test your comprehension of the chapter's topics. Scattered throughout the chapters are short assessment quizzes.

At the end of the 30-hour course is a final exam in multiple-choice format with a passing score of 70%. Students are allowed to attempt the final exam as many times as necessary to meet the minimum passing score. Each attempt at the final exam will contain a different set of test questions than the prior attempt.

The Washington Department of Licensing requires that students meet the minimum 30 hours of study time before accessing the final exam.

The course contains reading material, short videos, and quizzes. Students must complete all course materials before the student's course completion information will be sent to the DOL's licensing exam provider.
