This is a self-study course, meaning that we send you the textbook Real Estate Appraisal (Principles & Procedures), 4th Edition by Walt Huber and after reviewing the information, you take the quizzes online. Once you've progressed through all of the practice quizzes, you should be familiar with the information and fully prepared to take on the final exam.

Delivery

This is a correspondence course with a physical textbook. Chapter quizzes and a final exam are provided via the internet. Students will study each chapter of the textbook in order. After completing a chapter, students will need to complete an associated online quiz. The student must pass an online final exam at the end of the course.

No other substitute method of taking or completing this course is allowed.

Course Materials

The course contains approximately 45 hours of reading material in the textbook Estate Appraisal (Principles & Procedures), 4th Edition by Walt Huber.

A final examination is required at the end of the course. The final examination consists of 100 multiple choice questions. A test score of 75% or greater is required for course completion. The final examination is not downloadable or printable.

The final exam has a time limit of 3 hours. Questions not completed by that time will be marked as incorrect and the exam will be automatically scored.

The CalBRE limits students taking final exams for pre-license courses to one completed exam per 18 day period.

Course Identification Statement

In order to verify your identity, you will be asked to provide at the time of enrollment and again prior to taking the final examination certain information to verify your identity. Among the types of identification that may be asked for are your current California driver's license, current identification permitted under the California Vehicle Code, or any identification issued to you by a governmental agency or a recognized real estate related trade organization that was issued within the immediately preceding five years that bears your photograph, signature, and identification number. In addition, you will also be asked to provide answers to additional security questions, the answers to which are unique to you.
