To become a real estate agent, you need a real estate license. Each state requires and issues its own real estate licenses. To obtain a real estate license, you need to:

What do I need to get a real estate license?

To obtain a Washington real estate salesperson license you must:

  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Complete a 60 clock hour course in real estate fundamentals. The clock hours must be completed within 5 years prior to application for examination.
  • Obtain a Candidate Handbook from OnlineEd, which contains the examination application. We will stamp and complete the required information on the Examination Application. To schedule an real estate exam, contact the examination provider, Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc. (http://goamp.com) , at the toll free number provided in the handbook.
  • Pass the real estate salesperson examination. If the exam is passed, information will be forwarded by the Washington Department of Licensing on how to apply for a license.

How long does the course take to complete?
The course satisfies the 60 hour requirement of the Washington Department of Licensing. Because the course is mastery-based and not time-monitored, students can work at their own pace. Some students may take more or less time than the course is rated for. Course access is available for one year from enrollment. Extensions can be made available on request.

What is "exam prep"?
